Google reports that 60% of American would rather watch a video over live TV. Since 2015, people between the ages of 18-49 are spending 74% more time on YouTube. More than 70% of what people watch on YouTube is determined by its recommendation algorithm.
Google has a new search feature that includes showing videos from Facebook Business Page.
What Happened: The new feature is an expansion of a test-launch earlier last year, where "Videos" appear in the personalized feed in the Google mobile app on some Android devices, according to TechCrunch.
The "Videos" carousel of Google Search is different from YouTube Search, consisting of video content from partner sites such as Facebook. The carousel shows Facebook videos to users in search, allowing Google to retain users as they don't leave the platform.
